LA CROSSE LITHO SUPPLY NAMED TO 2009 INC. 5000 LIST
Inc. magazine today ranked La Crosse Litho Supply, LLC on its third annual Inc. 5000, an exclusive ranking of the nation's fastest-growing private companies. This marks the third year in a row that La Crosse Litho Supply has been named to the Inc. 5000 list, joining such companies as consumer electronics maker Vizio, rental car service Zipcar, and beverage maker Honest Tea on the 2009 list.
“Savvy trend spotters and those who invest in private companies know that the Inc. 5000 is the best place to find out about young companies that are achieving success through a wide variety of unprecedented business models, as well as older private companies that are still expanding at an impressive rate,” said Inc. 5000 project manager Jim Melloan. “That’s why our list is so eagerly anticipated every year.”
Originally founded in 1974 as a regional graphic arts dealer, La Crosse Litho Supply was purchased in 1999 by Randall M. Peters and has realized growth in annual sales of more than tenfold. The graphic arts equipment and consumables dealer relocated its national headquarters from La Crosse, Wisconsin, to Pewaukee, Wisconsin, in late 2000. This new state-of-the-art facility, located in Sussex, Wisconsin, is nearly triple the size of its former headquarters. In 2009, La Crosse Litho Supply opened a brand new office and distribution center in Indianapolis, Indiana, to better serve its expanding customer base in the region.
“La Crosse Litho Supply is extremely honored to make the Inc. 5000 list for the third straight year,” said Randall M. Peters, President. “We attribute our success to our ‘do whatever it takes’ mentality, our technological expertise and offerings and our extensive product line of graphic arts consumables and equipment. No other dealer in the industry has the personnel, the depth and breadth of products, and the expertise to be a ‘one-stop shop’ for the printing industry.”
The 2009 Inc. 5000, unveiled on Inc.com, serves as a unique report card on the U.S. economy. This year’s list also offers a preview of which industries are poised for growth in coming years. With an average growth rate of 667 percent, Insurance ranked as the top industry overall. Government Services was the top industry gainer with 252 companies on this year’s list, up from 135 last year. Health is the top industry by both total revenue ($22.7 billion) and total employment (156,223 jobs).

LA CROSSE LITHO SUPPLY OFFERS NEW PROOFING & PROTOTYPE SOLUTIONS
La Crosse Litho Supply is pleased to announce its partnership with PPT (Proofing & Prototyping Technologies) to provide their media solutions to the Upper Midwest. By utilizing PPT, commercial and packaging printers, graphic designers and agencies, publishers and prototypers can now provide their clients with realistic proofs and dimensional comps, saving time, money and materials.
PPT is a manufacturing and technology company that transforms packaging, publishing and press papers so they can be imaged on an aqueous ink jet printer. Currently most packaging prototypes are simple white boxes. Now PPT solutions enable printers to inkjet their images on the carton stock then fold them, emboss them or apply any post press operation for a realistic prototype.
PPT products include a wide range of SBS heavy weight board grades for packaging, commercial grades that meet SWOP and GRACoL guidelines, flexible packaging film and environmentally friendly papers.
Proofing and Prototyping Technologies’ President Jim Sineath commented “It’s been proven that inkjet technology can simulate press color. Unfortunately, inkjet papers are mostly shiny, limp, translucent and just do not feel or look like real production.” Sineath added “PPT products are engineered to withstand the demands of proofing while retaining the feel and functional characteristics of the finished product; the boxes and mock-ups look and feel like the real thing.”
La Crosse Litho Supply’s President Randall M. Peters said “PPT Solutions is something every printer must have to make their operations more cost-effective. This solution will save printers the cost of running a comparable on press, which uses valuable press time, materials and labor. By running PPT papers through an inkjet printer, proofs will look and feel like press proofs but cost much less than Approvals or Finalproofs.”
